Services for victims
The Sultanate of Oman provides a range of services to the victims of human trafficking, including:
Psychological services
Dar Al Wefaq has a psychologist, who helps the victims to reach a state of stability and psychological balance by restoring their confidence in themselves and raising their awareness of the methods of traffickers and the dangers of human trafficking. The female specialists also study the status of cases and restore the victims’ trust in the external community, which facilitates the recovery process and community participation.
Social services
The home provides for all the basic and private needs of victims. In addition, a cash amount is disbursed as pocket money for the victims during the period of their stay in the home. The home also provides the victims with educational programs for crafts and skills such as drawing, sewing and design. What victims produce is offered for sale, which generates income for the victims. The home also provides recreational activities, including (e.g. sports activities) to ensure that the victims’ free time is occupied in useful ways. Dar Al-Wefaq coordinates with the concerned authorities to find job opportunities for victims staying in the house.
Health services
Dar Al-Wefaq provides primary healthcare services including medical examinations in cooperation with health institutions to ensure that victims are free from serious or contagious diseases.
Legal services
Dar Al Wefaq provides legal protection thanks to the 2018 agreement between the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking and the Lawyers Association to ensure legal representation for victims of human trafficking and to preserve their rights.
